Talk:Food

From SPSU Wiki

Should the food listings be completely objective? I've described the food at El Ranchero as "good." I believe it, and I think it's important for people to be able to sort out the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I think the Marietta Diner emphasizes quantity over quality, but I didn't write that because of the caution on subjectivity.

Is there a way we can share opinions without inviting a mud-slinging match?

I think the food page should have subjective opinions. I wouldn't want it to come down to a rating system but not sure how to keep it from causing people to argue, but then again how many people are actively making changes to the wiki?

>how many people are actively making changes?

That would be us. {grin}

Suppose we remove the "subjective comments" restriction and see what happens? In the unlikely event that a problem develops, we can then debate how to correct it.

How about this?

The Food page is really mostly for students, and I'm not one, so I am reluctant to mess with the rules. Perhaps a student editor might revise the "subjective" business. If I were going to make a suggestion, it might be along the lines of, "Be as specific as possible if you make subjective comments, and be especially careful to support any negative comments with facts." --Bob Brown 5 April 2007 15:28 (EDT)
