Food

Introduction
Ideally, this article can serve as a comprehensive list of all the places to go and grab a bite to eat in or around the University. The listing probably shouldn't be subjective (ex: "I went to [insert restaurant here] and the food sucked..."). It's just that, a listing, along with some basic directions on how to get there. It would also be great to know whether they give a student discount to Southern Poly students (many places in the area do!). Hours, especially for places that close early or are open late, and a clue about prices will help, too. Some people care whether alcohol is available, either to get some (for the 21+ crowd only, naturally) or to avoid it.

Sit Down
- Anthony's Italian Kitchen
- website: www.anthonysitaliankitchen.net
- 1323 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA
- A few blocks east from the Big Chicken on Roswell Rd in the Town & Country shopping center.
- Must be 21+ to eat downstairs.
- China Kitchen
- Located in the same plaza as Haveli Indian Restaurant, at South Marietta Pkwy and Franklin Road. You can get a lot of food for less than $5.
- $0.25 Drink with student ID.
- El Ranchero
- Good Mexican food; bar service for the 21+ crowd.
- Inexpensive; most dinner entrees under $10.
- You can walk to El Ranchero from school. Go out the "back way" up Polytechnic Lane and turn left on Highway 41. El Ranchero is the fourth building along on the left. Open until ten on weeknights, later on weekends.
- Falafel
- Mid-priced middle-eastern food; try the marinated beef kebab.
- Somewhat hard to find. Go south on 41 and turn right on Barclay Circle (toward Life University). There's a little shopping strip mall behind the Waffle House, and Falafel is on the back side of the little shopping strip mall. Worth looking for, though.
- Houston's
- Expensive bar food (but a full bar, too); often crowded with yuppies
- Southeast corner of Windy Hill and Powers Ferry
- Huddle House
- It's on the corner of S. Marietta Parkway and Manget St, about 2 miles east of SPSU.
- International House of Pancakes
- Marietta Dinner
- American-style food, big portions, breakfast any time.
- Somewhat pricey; dinner can be ten dollars or more.
- Open 24-Hours
- Marietta Pizza (On the Square)
- Piccadilly Cafeteria
- Sort-of southern food served cafeteria-style. Good and not expensive
- 536 Cobb Pkwy S; it's just a couple of doors down from El Ranchero on the west side of Cobb Parkway
- Tommy's Taste of New York
- Deli sandwiches and pizza; eat in, take out, and even delivery. Sandwiches tend to be about $7.00, medium pizza from $15 to $20 depending upon contents.
- 497 Cobb Parkway, (770) 794-0045
- Waffle House
- Highway 41 south of campus on the southwest corner of Barclay Circle. Turn right out of Polytehcnic Lane or form the South Loop and go a mile or so; it's on the right at the first traffic light. Could be within walking distance, depending on how hungry you are.
- Open 24 hours, including holidays. Short-order American food, breakfast any time; mostly inexpensive.
- Marietta Square has a lot of fine dining and some less expensive sit-down restaurants.
- Some of it is pretty expensive
- Turn L off of S. Marietta Parkway onto 41 from campus to go N. Go down to Roswell Rd. and make a L. (The "Big Chicken" is on your right before you turn off of 41. See, told you it was a landmark.) Marietta Square is down a mile or two, immediately before the railroad tracks.
