1. !!!!! ATTENTION SPSU CAMPUS COMMUNITY!!!!!
CAMPUS ROAD CONSTRUCTION BEGAN MONDAY, DECEMBER 17th, 2007.
The following portions of the road construction have been completed: the West Entrance to South Marietta Parkway (where the current red light is), the new East Entrance, parking in front of the Student center and Wellness Center. Sorry for the inconveience.
ATTENTION
A significant number of commuter spaces will remain available in Lot 1 for now. Other closings in Lot 1 are anticipated, but we hope to keep as many commuter spaces available in Lot 1 for as long as possible. We will keep you apprised of closings.
When this project is completed, there will be a net increase in the total number of commuter spaces on the North side of campus.
Ample on-campus commuter parking is available in the commuter lots on Alumni Drive.
We apologize for this unavoidable inconvenience, but welcome the opportunity to increase the number of commuter spaces in that area and to make the main campus entrance safer for our students.
1. Buildings D, E and G designs for closing in 1st floors complete 6-23-08.
2. Contractor working on roadway improvements 06-23-08.
3. Design team working with SPSU and BoR for the ECT and I building 06-23-08.
====Completed====
1. Rebuilding of building an original chiller complete.
2. Rebuilding of building C chiller completed.
3. Phase 1 of removing overhead power lines completed.
4. Locker room tile installed at building NC.
5. Business and Finance renovation completed.
6. A small renovation of the Financial Aid Reception area has been completed.
7. Building I, second floor has been renovated for the School of Architecture to occupy during the school year. Facilities was acting as the GC and overseeing this project.
8. Renovation of the Building M Conference room into 3 Faculty offices has been completed.
9. Renovation of space in the Attic at Bldg. J to create an office has been completed.
10. Replacement of the older boiler in the Student Center and 1 cooling tower has been replaced.
11. Replacement of the pool area lighting fixtures at the Wellness Center has been completed.
12. Refinishing of the Ballroom floor has been completed.
13. Library collection restoration area added.
14. J building coffee shop has been completed and is in operation.
15. M building renovated for Architecture programs.
16. Partial renovation of the 1st floor of I complete.
17. Work has been completed addressing the mechanical issues in H building.
18. ALC has completed the installation of equipment to enhance the EMS.
19. Elks lodge is completed and will house EU and ESL.
